Mercedes-Benz continues to expand its model lineup and the now it’s previewing a competitor to the BMW X4 and X6 crossover coupes with its Concept Coupe SUV that just debuted at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. The Concept Coupe SUV’s muscular stance, flared fenders and high 22-inch wheels give it a much sportier look than the ML-Class SUV.
“Sensual as a coupĂ© – visionary as an SUV,” is the succinct choice of words used by Gorden Wagener, Head of Design at Mercedes-Benz, to describe the physiognomy of the Concept CoupĂ© SUV. Under the hood it’s powered by a 3.0L V6 with 333 horsepower and 354 lb-ft. of torque that’s mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The Concept Coupe SUV is a preview of the upcoming MLC crossover, which will borrow its platform from the ML-Class SUV. If the MLC does well, Mercedes could even introduce a smaller model to compete against the BMW X4.
