Mercedes-Benz is bringing a new electric version of the new B-Class to the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The Concept B-Class Electric Drive is one of the first Mercedes models to incorporate the term “Electric Drive” into its model designation.
The Concept B-Class Electric Drive looks almost identical to the standard B-Class models. It is equipped with a 100 kW electric motor and has a driving range over 124 miles. The battery can be charged at any standard domestic 230 V power outlet or alternatively – with rapid charging function – at a 400 V high-voltage terminal.
The so-called Energy Space in the floor of the B-Class in front of the rear axle houses the lithium-ion battery and ensures that the concept vehicle offers the same space inside as the gas and diesel powered models.
The B-Class Electric Drive is will be released in 2014.
