McLaren unveiled the new 650S coupe and spider at the Geneva Motor Show in March, but it’s now being reported that a more track-focused version of the supercar could be in the works.
McLaren’s chief development driver Chris Goodwin recently told Auto Express that more is possible for the 650S. Even though it is one of the fastest cars available, McLaren could dial up the performance even more. “This is not as far as we’re going to go – there’s plenty more we can do.”

Goodwin also stated that about 12 percent of 650S buyers will want to take their car on the track, which could build a case for a lighter, track-focused version. It’s not known what changes could be in store for the track-focused 650S, but expect it to be lighter and have some exterior tweaks to make it slip through the air easier.
