Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is pretty much a common thing in the latest new cars, but a few automakers have been resisting the technology. Toyota finally decided to add the technology, which is arriving with the new Avalon, Corolla and RAV4. Now Mazda is ready to offer it as well, which will arrive this summer with the 2018 Mazda6.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity will be standard on the Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trim levels of the new Mazda6. That basically leaves out the base Mazda6 Sport. Mazda will also retrofit the technology if you get a 2018 Mazda6 before the technology rolls off the production line.

Mazda unveiled the updated 2019 Mazda CX-3 today, but it did not mention if it will also get the technology or if any other Mazda’s will soon get it. There was also a report that Mazda would upgrade older models with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but Mazda hasn’t confirmed that either.
