Mazda has announced that production of the all-new 2016 MX-5 Miata has kicked off at its Ujina Plant No.1 in Hiroshima. The first sales of the new MX-5 will begin in Japan in June of this year before it arrives in other markets around the world later this year.
When the new MX-5 Miata arrives in the U.S. it will be powered by a new 2.0L SkyActiv four-cylinder engine that generates 155 horsepower and 148 lb-ft. of torque. Other markets get a smaller 129-hp 1.5L engine.
