On the heels of the new Navigator and Nautilus, Lincoln is presenting a new option as it seeks to expand not only its SUV lineup, but the number of electrified models that it offers. On the outside the new Lincoln Aviator borrows many styling cues from the larger Navigator but with a more sculpted exterior that gives the three-row SUV a sportier look.

“In Aviator, the lines of the vehicle are streamlined,” says Lincoln Design Director David Woodhouse. “You have the stature and presence of the grille at the front, then the body and tail taper off – creating a distinct aerofoil analogy.”

Besides the stunning exterior, the big news is what’s under the hood. The new Aviator is built on a rear-wheel-drive platform and under the hood there’s a twin-turbocharged engine can be paired with a plug-in hybrid system. Lincoln has not revealed if the turbocharged engine is Ford’s 2.7L or 3.5L V6.

Wireless phone charging is located in the front armrest and multiple power outlets are located throughout the cabin and standard Wi-Fi keeps everyone stays connected.

The Aviator will also arrive with Phone as a Key technology that allows owners to lock and unlock, open the trunk, start and drive the vehicle using an app on their phone.
