The Lexus RX L has tried to appeal to families with its third-row, but it has some clear compromises compared to several of its luxury crossover rivals. Well there are rumors that a new three-row Lexus TX crossover could arrive as a successor to the RX L. Lexus has filed trademarks for TX, TX 350, and TX 500h. Now it looks like Lexus is really getting ready to use the TX name, since it recently filed a trademark for another TX version, called the TX 550h+.
The Tundra3 forum discovered the trademark application that was filed a few days ago on March 16. The TX 550h+ name easily designates that it’s for a hybrid version of the TX crossover, but the “+” could mean it’s a plug-in hybrid, just like the NX 450h+.
Lexus has yet to make any announcements about a new addition to its lineup, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
