Maserati has pulled the covers off its latest addition, the 2023 Grecale SUV, a new small crossover that shares its platform with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. It stands out from its Alfa Romeo cousin with the availability of a fully electric powertrain and other unique engines.

If you’re a fan of the Maserati Levante, then you’ll like the Grecale, since the SUV definitely borrows from styling the Levante. In terms of size, the Grecale is about six inches shorter than the Levante, with a four inch shorter wheelbase and an inch shorter height.

The base Grecale is called the GT and is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a mild-hybrid system. The powertrain generates 296 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. According to Maserati the Grecale GT can accelerate to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. The next model is the Grecale Modena, that has the same four-cylinder powertrain, but it’s been boosted to 325 hp and can accelerate to 60 mph in 5.0 seconds.

The Grecale Trofeo is powered by the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 as the MC20. It generates 523 hp and 457 lb-ft. The Trofeo can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 177 mph. The four-cylinder and V6 engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and get standard all-wheel drive.

For the EV buyer, there’s the Grecale Folgore. Maserati hasn’t released all the details about the Folgore, but it will have 400-volt technology, a 105-kilowatt-hour battery pack and up to 590 lb-ft. of torque. The Grecale Folgore will arrive a year after the other Grecale models.

Inside the Grecale arrives with a new Android-based infotainment system with dual touchscreens. The top infotainment screen measures 12.3-inches, while a second 8.8-inch screen houses the climate controls and other settings. The Grecale also comes with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. A 21-speaker Sonus Faber sound system, a head-up display, three-zone automatic climate control and a panoramic sunroof are optional.

The 2023 Maserati Grecale will go on sale this fall. It’s pricing starts at $64,995. A Limited Edition version is also available with more standard features and it starts at $78,895.
