Just in case you didn’t know, today is Earth Day and to celebrate it, Kia has made a few announcements about its future zero emissions lineup. Today Kia only sells the Niro EV in the US, since the Soul EV is reportedly delayed until 2021. But Kia isn’t stopping there.

Imagine by Kia

Steve Kosowski, the Manager of Kia’s Long Range Strategy, Product Strategy and Mobility has revealed some of Kia’s plans for its future electric lineup. The big news is that Kia plans to release its first dedicated EV in the US by the end of 2021. There has been speculation that the EV will be a production version of the Imagine concept, but Kosowski also hinted that it could take some cues from the HabaNiro concept that debuted last year.

It will be an electric crossover, that “blurs the boundaries between passenger cars, CUVs, crossovers.” The new EV will also have a 300 mile range and will be built on a completely new platform.
