Kia Soul to Get a Bit More Fun With a 1.6L Turbo and AWD

Kia is reportedly working on a more powerful version of the popular Kia Soul with the turbocharged 1.6L from the Kia Forte SX Turbo and Hyundai Veloster Turbo.

Kia is reportedly working on a more powerful version of the popular Kia Soul with the turbocharged 1.6L from the Kia Forte SX Turbo and Hyundai Veloster Turbo. The 1.6L generates 201 horsepower, which would be a nice increase over the 130-hp and 164-hp engines that are currently offered under the Soul’s hood.

Automobile reportedly received the the confirmation from a Kia product planner, who also stated that an all-wheel-drive Soul is also a possibility, following repeated requests from dealers. In addition to offering more power, the turbocharged Soul is also going to get a some suspension and braking tweaks.

A time frame has not been announced.
