Jeep hasn’t announced the updates to the 2020 Jeep Wrangler, but thanks to the guys over at Mopar Insiders, we might have a clue to what’s in store for the new year.
The big news is that the 2020 Wrangler is reportedly getting a limited edition model called the Black & Tan Edition. As its name suggests, the Wrangler Black & Tan Edition is painted in black with a tan top. It also rides on 17-inch Granite Crystal wheels, side steps, black Jeep badges and Heritage Tan cloth seats. It also gets the Technology Group, which includes the 7-inch Unconnect infotainment system, a 7-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) in the gauge cluster, dual climate control and satellite radio. The package reportedly will reportedly list for $1,695.
The 2020 Wrangler will also be available with Altitude Sport S and Altitude Sahara models which come with Gloss Black accents, a Black Spatter hard top on the Sport S and a body color hard top on the Sahara, 18-inch gloss black wheels, black interior accents and black leather seats.
If you’re wondering when the diesel-powered Wrangler will ever arrive, according to the report it will eventually arrive later in the 2020 model year. There are some other big updates for the powertrain lineup, like the fact that all Wrangler Sahara models with automatic transmissions will get an eTorque mild hybrid system with the 3.6-liter V6. The Sahara will be the only trim level to get the mild hybrid system with the V6.
For the 2.0L four-cylinder, it’s losing the eTorque option on Sport and Rubicon models and will be replaced by a non-eTorque 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder. The standard 2.0L will reduce the price of the Sport and Rubicon models by $1,500, but the Sahara is still available with the 2.0L eTorque powertrain.
Jeep has yet to officially announce the details about the 2020 Wrangler, so we’ll have to wait and see.
