The 2.0L four-cylinder Ingenium engine is already offered in the Jaguar lineup, but in the F-Type it generates 296 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of torque. The four-cylinder comes standard with an 8-speed automatic. The F-Type four-cylinder will reach 60 mph in 5.4 seconds and has a limited top speed of 155 mph. According to Jaguar, the new four-cylinder is 16 percent more fuel efficient than the 3.0L V6.

The F-Type four-cylinder also drops about 115 pounds, thanks to the smaller engine.

“Most of the weight reduction is over the front axle, making the car beautifully balanced and really agile to drive – as you’d expect, the car is really at home on beautiful twisty roads,” stated Erol Mustafa, Chief Product Engineer of Jaguar Sports Cars. “Couple that with a four-cylinder exhaust note and this particular F-TYPE has a character all of its own. I like to think of it as the feisty younger brother of the V6 and V8 models.”

The introduction of the new four-cylinder F-Type means that the entry price to get into an F-Type will now be even lower and easier to swallow with a starting price at $60,895, including the destination fees. The F-Type 2.0T will be available in either coupe or convertible body styles.
