The 2018 F-Type Coupe and Convertible get a small facelift, new technology and even a new app that Jaguar developed with GoPro.
It’s hard to believe that the sexy F-Type was unveiled five years ago back in 2012, so it makes sense that Jaguar is giving it an update for the 2018 model year. The 2018 F-Type Coupe and Convertible get a small facelift, new technology and even a new app that Jaguar developed with GoPro.
The changes to the outside of the 2018 F-Type are small with the update list only including new LED headlights and a restyled front bumper. Inside there are a lot more changes, like new slimline seats that are around 18 pounds lighter, new aluminum trim and updated color options.
The 2018 F-Type gets a new Touch Pro infotainment system, that is not only faster than the old system, but it now also includes more navigation functions such as Share ETA and online services such as real-time traffic and live weather reports.
If you’re a GoPro fan, you’ll be able to capture and share your driving experiences using the new ReRun app developed in collaboration with GoPro. ReRun combines real-time video from the driver’s GoPro with key vehicle performance data including speed, throttle position, gear selection, braking force and g force. The video can also be downloaded to your smartphone and shared on social media.
A new R-Dynamic model is being introduced for the 340 and 380 horsepower versions of the F-Type. It adds 19-inch or 20-inch alloy wheels and Gloss Black aperture bezels to the front bumper. The distinctive Gloss Black finish is also applied to the front splitter, hood vents, side sills and rear diffuser.
Lastly a new launch model, the 400 Sport launch edition is being offered for the 2018 model year. It is powered by a new 400-hp version of the 3.0L supercharged V6 engine and gets performance upgrades, like the Super Performance braking system, Configurable Dynamics and 20-inch wheels with a unique Dark Satin Grey finish.
