Jaguar recently took the 2018 Jaguar XE SV Project 8 to Laguna Seca, where the 595-hp sedan set a new record. The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 lapped the 2.238-mile Laguna Seca track in 1 minute and 37.54 seconds. Jaguar now says that the XE SV Project 8 is “the world’s fastest four-door car.”

The 2018 Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is powered by a supercharged 5.0L V8 with 595-hp that’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It only takes 3.3 seconds to reach 60 mph and the sedan has a top speed of 200 mph.

The Laguna Seca test follows last year’s run at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where the XE SV Project 8 lapped the 12.9-mile circuit in a record 7 minutes and 21.23 seconds.

If you’re hoping to get the keys to the 2018 Jaguar XE SV Project 8, you’ll be sad to hear that Jaguar only plans to build 300 units. Pricing in the UK starts at £149,995 ($196,546).
