Jaguar Land Rover is currently working on a new family of four-cylinder engines that will replace the current Ford-sourced engine, which is used by the Range Rover Evoque.
Jaguar Land Rover is currently working on a new family of four-cylinder engines that will replace the current Ford-sourced engine, which is used by the Range Rover Evoque. The Ingenium engine family will include both diesel and gasoline versions.
The new Ingenium four-cylinder engine is 176 pounds lighter than the current four-cylinder engine. The first engine to go into production will be a 2.0L diesel engine, that’s about 17 percent more efficient than the current 2.2L diesel.The first vehicle to receive the new engine will be the 2016 Jaguar XE, which will be followed by the 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport and possibly the F-Type.

Ingenium will be able to accept new advances in fuel, turbocharging, emissions, performance and electrification technologies when they are ready and accessible to be deployed.”
