Nissan has been pretty vocal that it has no idea when we’ll get a next-generation Nissan Z, but a new rumor claims that a new Z could come as early as 2019. There new rumor also that claims that Nissan is teaming up with Mercedes-Benz to create the next-generation Nissan Z.
The new rumor comes to us from Japan, thanks to Response.jp, which is reporting that Nissan execs are feeling the pressure to create a new Z thanks to the upcoming arrival of the new Toyota Supra. Rather than use the existing platform for the new Z, the rumor claims that Nissan will borrow a platform from Mercedes-Benz. A 2.0L four-cylinder would also be borrowed from Mercedes-Benz, while the top trim levels will get the same turbocharged 3.0L V6 as the Infiniti Q60.
As of right now we can only take this rumor with a grain of salt, since Nissan hasn’t even hinted at what we could expect from the next Z.
