With its four-door fastback design, the Q80 Inspiration concept looks ahead to a new Infiniti flagship sedan that will compete with other sleeker models like the Audi A7, Mercedes-Benz CLS and Porsche Panamera. At 79.1 inches wide and 199.2 inches long, the concept’s dimensions mirror other flagship sedans, but it’s height is much shorter at only 52.8 inches.

Inside the Q80 Inspiration concept has four individual seats that are accessed via wide opening portal-style doors. Once inside the rear passengers both get a touch screen positioned in the rear of the front seat rest to tap into their on-board entertainment package, while the front passenger also has an HUD for display of external information via a smartphone connected to the vehicle’s telematics system.

The Q80 Inspiration wouldn’t be a flagship if it didn’t have excessive amounts of luxury features, so Infiniti gave it quilted leather seats and exquisite Alcantara, leather and metal finishes and a panoramic glass roof.

Under the hood the Q80 Inspiration is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 and hybrid electric powertrain with 550 horsepower. The system is rated at 42.8 mpg on the EU cycle. The hybrid system also has the capability to switch seamlessly from rear to all-wheel-drive when needed. Infiniti says that the new engine offers a precursor to a family of engines that will be introduced to the Infiniti portfolio within the next two years.
