Hyundai hasn’t even officially unveiled the new Kona small SUV, but a new report claims that Hyundai is working on an all-electric version that will arrive late next year. The 2019 Hyundai Kona EV will easily beat the Hyundai Ioniq’s driving range, with a range around 200 miles.

The news about the Hyundai Kona EV comes from Autobild, via PushEVs that claims that the electric SUV will get a large 50 kWh battery. With that big of a battery, the Kona EV will have a driving range over 200 miles, with the report claiming around 217 miles.

The Kona EV will likely be able to nab the title as the most efficient SUV in the world when it arrives in late 2018. Kia is also working on a small electric SUV, which is pegged to be an EV version of the upcoming Kia Stoic.
