An all-new 10th generation Honda Accord is going to arrive later this year and just like the current generation Civic, the 2018 Accord is going to get some big changes. Honda isn’t ready to unveil all the details yet, but Honda has confirmed that the new Accord will lose its 3.5L V6.
The 2018 Accord will have a more aggressive stance and proportion than any previous Accord
The 2018 Accord will offer three powertrains. We already expected the base engine to be the same 1.5L turbocharged engine that does duty in the Civic and CR-V, but now we know what will replace the current V6. Honda has announced that the 2018 Accord’s top engine will be a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder. The 2.0L is close to the same 2.0L that powers the insane Civic Type R, but it’s been detuned a bit and reconfigured to better power the midsize sedan.

Honda hasn’t announced the specs for the new 2.0L turbocharged engine, but it definitely won’t have the same 306 horsepower as the Civic Type R. It will also run on regular fuel, instead of premium. After all is said in done, the new four-cylinder is expected to have slightly less horsepower than the outgoing V6, but it should be more fuel efficient. Both the 1.5L and 2.0L engines can be mated to either a 10-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.
The 2018 Accord will also once again offer a hybrid version.
While we don’t have all the details yet, Honda has released these photos of a camouflaged 2018 Accord. Honda says that it will have a dramatically lower and wider appearance that creates a more aggressive and athletic stance.
“With these three advanced new powertrains, the tenth-generation Accord will be the most fun-to-drive, refined and fuel-efficient Accord yet,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of America Honda Motor Co., Inc.
