Hyundai to Unveil Elantra Coupe this Fall in LA

In an effort to steal more sales from Honda’s popular Civic, Hyundai is going to unveil a coupe version of its new Elantra at the LA Auto Show, this fall.

The Elantra coupe will be powered by the same 148-hp 1.8L four-cylinder engine as the sedan. In 2012 it’s expected that Hyundai will release an R-Spec version that will be powered by the same 208-hp turbocharged engine that is going to power the Hyundai Veloster. The R-Spec Elantra Coupe would be a direct competitor to the Honda Civic Si.
