Past reports have claimed that the S2000 successor would basically be a baby NSX with the same 2.0L turbocharged engine as the upcoming Civic Type-R. Now the newest report says that the S2000 successor is going to up the ante with a two-stage electric boost system. The system is similar to technology that Mitsubishi is testing with its standard turbocharger and an electrically driven supercharger. Mitsubishi is looking into the setup, since it says that it will be more efficient than the current twin-turbocharged setup that other automakers are using.

Honda could apply the technology to the 2.0L four-cylinder and get around 320-325 horsepower from the four-cylinder. Keep your fingers crossed that we finally get to see the S2000 successor some time in 2018.
