GMC has unveiled the 2019 GMC Sierra Denali and SLT models, which is all-new, just like its cousin, the 2019 Chevy Silverado. On the outside the 2019 Sierra now has a bolder design with a large in your face grille and a more sculpted look, while the interior offers several new features, like a head-up display and rear camera mirror.
At the front you’ll immediately notice the taller, more pronounced look. It now has a larger more upright grille and a taller hood, while new “light blade” LED daytime running lights give it a more modern touch.
“The next generation Sierra Denali has a deliberate, commanding presence,” said Matt Noone, director of design, GMC Exteriors. “Its unmistakable design embodies the essence of GMC, while advancing the brand’s core styling elements — rooted in inherent capability — with a new expression of its signature cues.”
The 2019 Sierra is not only bolder, but larger than its predecessor, since it’s larger in pretty much every dimension. The wheels have also been pushed further to the corners and noth the Denali and SLT versions ride on large 22-inch wheels.
Inside, the seating position has been raised, while the dashboard is more driver-centric with higher quality materials. There’s also three inches more legroom in the back and there’s storage slots neatly integrated into the outboard rear seat backs. Inside there’s also a new multi-color 3×7 head-up display, 8-inch infotainment system, rear camera mirror and the new surround vision system provides a bird’s-eye view to help you park.
The 2019 GMC Sierra also debuts a new MultiPro Tailgate that features six functions and positions offering enhanced second-tier loading and load-stop solutions, a standing workstation mode and easier access to items in the box. Speaking of the cargo box, a new carbon fiber box will be introduced later in the model year. The CarbonPro box replaces the standard steel inner panels and floor with a carbon fiber composite that’s 62 pounds lighter than the steel box.
Under the hood the 2019 Sierra will be offered with either with a choice of three engines: a 5.3L V8, 6.2L V8 and a new 3.0L inline-six cylinder turbo diesel.
Both the 2019 GMC Sierra Denali and SLT go on sale this fall.
