General Motors has made a major announcement today, which will see the death of several of its cars as it repositions its lineup to produce more trucks and crossovers. It was expected that this would eventually happen and now GM has confirmed plans to idle its Oshawa Assembly in Ontario, Canada, Lordstown Plant in Ohio and the Detroit-Hamtramck plant in Michigan by the end of 2019.

Along with the plant closures, we also now know which models will be getting the axe. We can now report that the Chevy Volt, Impala, Cruze and Buick LaCrosse will be discontinued, in addition to the Cadillac CT6 and XTS. It was reported over a year ago that all these models would be eventually killed off.
