It’s finally almost here. Ford has announced that it will reveal the 2022 maverick compact pickup truck on June 8. The Maverick revives an old name for a new unibody pickup that share’s its platform with the Bronco Sport.
The Maverick will compete with other unibody pickups, like the Hyundai Santa Cruz and Honda Ridgeline. Ford hasn’t revealed the specs for the Maverick, but it’s expected to get the same 250-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the Bronco Sport. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder will likely be the base engine. A hybrid version may also be planned.
