Yesterday it was reported that the 2022 Ford Explorer ST will come standard with rear-wheel drive, making all-wheel drive just an option. Now we have some news about the 2022 Ford Edge, which will go the opposite route and only be available with all-wheel drive.
Ford Authority has received a tip from insider sources that claim that the 2022 Edge will drop the front-wheel drive version. Ford has yet to make any announcements about the 2022 Edge.
We still don’t know what the future holds for the Edge, since in 2020 it was reported that Ford was considering discontinuing the Edge in 2023. Sales of the Edge have continued to decline over the past few years.
