Ford Racing Reveals the Focus ST-R in Frankfurt

Ford is showing off two new high-performance versions of the Ford Focus, one thats ready to take on the road (Focus ST) and the Focus ST-R race car that you see here. The Focus ST-R may take some of the styling cues from the Focus ST, but its meant for the track. The Focus ST-R is a fully-prepared competition car that will soon be available to North American motorsports teams.

The Focus ST-R is powered by a 2.0L EcoBoost engine and features a FIA regulation roll cage, uprated brakes and track-tuned suspension. The Focus ST-R has been designed to compete in a huge variety of series, including Grand-Am ST, World Challenge TC and Canadian Touring Car Series.

“We’re thrilled to be taking the Focus ST-R from concept to reality for motorsport enthusiasts initially in North America and potentially around the world,” said Jamie Allison, director, Ford Racing.
