It looks like the successor to the Ford Transit Connect may be built in Mexico. Suppliers have revealed to Automotive News that Ford is planning on building a small van at its Hermosillo plant in Mexico.

Currently the Transit Connect is built in Spain. The new small van will reportedly built alongside the Bronco Sport and the new Maverick small truck. According to Automotive News the new van, which is known internally as the V758, will go into production in Mexico in 2023. The van will also be based on the same C2 vehicle architecture as the Ford Escape, Bronco Sport and Maverick.

Ford reportedly plans to build about 40,000 vans a year in Mexico.
