Ford has announced that it will build a limited run of the 2015 Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustangs for the 2015 model year to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Shelby GT350.
Ford has announced that it will build a limited run of the 2015 Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustangs for the 2015 model year to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Shelby GT350. Only 100 Shelby GT350 models will feature a 2015 model year designation before production switches over to 2016, while on 37 GT350R models will be produced.
The Shelby GT350 was revealed late last year and it’s powered by a 5.2L V8 with more than 500 horsepower. Of the 100 units to be produced, 50 will be equipped with the Technology Package and 50 equipped with the Track Package.

The GT350R debuted earlier this year in Detroit and takes the GT350 even higher with its revised suspension, lower ride height and unique track-tuned alignment settings. It’s also lighter thanks to the removal of the air conditioning, the stereo system, rear seats, trunk floorboard and carpet, backup camera and emergency tire sealer and inflator.
