Last year FCA gave the world a look at an electric minivan concept, when the Chrysler Portal concept debuted at CES. Now a new report claims that FCA has given the Chrysler Portal the green light and that production of the electric minivan will kick off in 2020.

According to Automotive News, the Chrysler Portal electric minivan will be influenced by the concept, but some of the concept’s trick features, like its retractable steering wheel and autonomous tech may not be ready when it arrives. Chrysler has yet to make any formal announcements about the Portal.

The same report also contains a bit of bad news, since the Chrysler 300 is reportedly going to be discontinued in 2020, which means that the Chrysler lineup will no longer offer any sedans. With the departure of the Chrysler 300, that means that the Chrysler lineup will be pretty slim with only the Pacifica and Portal minivans, but a new crossover is coming. Earlier this year former FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne confirmed that a Chrysler crossover will arrive by mid-2019.
