Last fall Cadillac unveiled its new electric flagship, the Celestiq. When Cadillac unveiled the new EV, it announced that it would have a price tag starting around $300,000, but now Cadillac has announced that it will be even more expensive with a price tag starting at $340,000.
Cadillac spokeswoman Melissa Grady Dias confirmed the update on LinkedIn, who described the base Celestiq as a “blank canvas” for buyers to customize the Celestiq to their tastes. “As clients create their individualized Celestiq, they will have the opportunity to work with some of the worlds most talented designers to ensure their vision is completely understood and executed with extreme precision,” Dias added.
Each buyer will create their individualized Celestiq through a design consultation process by a Cadillac concierge. Deliveries are expected to start in the spring of 2024. Production is going to be extremely limited.
It’s powered two electric motors that generate a combined 600 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque and all that power is sent to all four wheels. Cadillac estimates that the Celestiq can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds and will have a 300 mile driving range. The 111 kWh battery pack can support DC fast charging at up to 200-kW.
