Did you hate the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo? Well if you did, you can now say goodbye to the 5 Series Gran Turismo! But if you were one of the few people that actually liked it, you’ll be happy to know that it has been transformed into the 2018 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo.
The 2018 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo is priced from $70,695
The 2018 6 Series GT ditches the awkward minivan/ hatchback look of the old 5 Series GT and instead now features a slightly sleeker profile that will give BMW a rival to the Audi A7. Although the A7 still looks a bit sexier. Even though it’s now technically a 6 Series, the 2018 6 Series is not on the same platform as the 6 Series Gran Coupe and Convertible, instead it shares the CLAR platform with the 5 and 7 Series.

Initially in the U.S. the 6 Series GT will only be offered in one version, the 640i xDrive. It’s powered by a turbocharged 3.0L six-cylinder engine that generates 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft. of torque. The six-cylinder is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends the power to all four wheels. According to BMW, the 640i xDrive will reach 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and has a top speed of 130 mph. If you want a higher top speed, that’s an option and you’ll be able to hit 155 mph.
Other future engine options, include the 4.4L V8 from the 550i xDrive and possibly even a plug-in hybrid version.
Pricing for the 2018 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo starts at $70,695 and it arrives this fall.
