Audi has unveiled the Audi R8 V10 RWS, which is the automaker’s first ever production car with rear-wheel drive. The limited edition R8 V10 RWS is made for purists with its V10 engine and standard rear-wheel drive.

The Audi R8 V10 RWS is powered by a 5.2l V10 that generates 540 horsepower and 398 lb-ft. of torque. The V10 packs enough power to accelerate the R8 V10 RWS Coupe from 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds, while the R8 V10 RWS Spyder is barely slower at 3.8 seconds. The Coupe can reach a top speed of 199 mph, while the Spyder maxes out at 198 mph.

The Audi R8 V10 RWS will be available for order in Germany and other European countries from this fall, with the first units arriving early next year. Only 999 units will be produced. The Audi R8 V10 RWS Coupe starts at 140,000 euros and the Spyder at 153,000 euros.
