Alfa Romeo confirms that it will offer sports cars again soon

In the last two decades, Alfa Romeo has only offered two sports cars, the 8C and 4C, but both have been discontinued. If you’re wondering if Alfa Romeo is done with sports cars, the answer is no. Although Alfa Romeo is currently focused on sedans and new SUVs, like the 2023 Tonale, Alfa Romeo is going to eventually offer another sports car.

Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato recently confirmed to Autocar that the brand is working on some new one-off and limited edition projects. Alfa Romeo will release more details about the new models later this year. The CEO recalled the Alfa Romeo Spider “Duetto” and T33 Stradale as references to the styling of its future sports cars.

“I cannot present anything concrete for now, but I can tell you that I do not forget our past and our passion,” Imparto stated. “I am focusing on the business and the elephant in the room is electrification. We have to have the right priorities on the table but at the same time, we are working in parallel on these projects.”

Imparto also added: “If I bring a good level of business, I’m sure that [Stellantis boss] Carlos Tavares and I will one day speak about some dream cars, because I have to support the storytelling of Alfa Romeo in the future. It’s not for tomorrow, but I would love to have a Duetto one day.”
