We’re still waiting for Honda to introduce the Fit-based crossover in the U.S., which is known as the Vezel in Japan. But it’s being reported that Acura is now considering a version of the crossover as well.
The Vezel is based on the all-new Fit, which was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show this week and when it arrives here in the U.S. with a different name, it will be positioned under the CR-V. The chief engineer for the Vezel’s drivetrain recently revealed that Acura is considering building a similar vehicle off the same platform.

Last year Acura showed off the SUV-X concept in Shanghai that is aimed at the Chinese market, but there is a possibility that the production version could come to North America. With the luxury crossover segment growing with new models like the Mercedes GLA and Audi Q3, it only makes sense that Acura brings it here.
