With the 2027 Chevrolet Traverse, Chevrolet is making a statement. The brand has put a meaningful update on the model by way of a reworked High Country trim, one that ushers in a fresh design direction for the marque as a whole. While all 2027 Traverses come with new tech to simplify the family road trip, it is the flagship High Country that stands out with a more upscale demeanor.

In fact, this is the first Chevrolet to sport the company’s revised premium design language; the next to do so will be the next-generation 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

The 2027 model year sees the High Country evolve into something more sophisticated, yet the ruggedness of the Traverse is still there. Outwardly, the 2027 Traverse High Country is marked by a new badge on the liftgate and front doors. The brighter chrome of old has been given way to Tritan Satin-finished headlamp accents and a grille of the same finish. It’s topped off with 22-inch high-gloss black machined aluminum wheels.

Chevrolet has taken a similar approach inside, introducing color and material combinations to put an air of luxury in the cabin. The seats are done up in Jet Black with Natural Tan touches, with seat belts to match. There is also real wood trim and debossed front headrests among the other premium finishes.

Perhaps the most notable change for the 2027 Chevrolet Traverse is in the realm of camera technology. An Interior Camera is now available (and comes as standard on the RS and High Country) with a Cabin Glance function. From the center touchscreen a driver can check on the second and third rows – children or pets included – with no need to turn around behind the wheel.

There is a new Surround Vision Recorder as well for capturing video from the outside cameras while on the move. And if the alarm goes off while the vehicle is parked, the Security Recording will automatically record the event.

As for the powertrain, the 2027 model is unchanged from the current generation. A 2.5-liter turbo four is standard across the board, putting out 328 horsepower and 326 lb.-ft. of torque. Towing capacity holds at 5,000 pounds.

It is still one of the roomiest midsize options you will find, with as much as 98 cubic feet of cargo space when configured for it. On the tech side, buyers get a standard 17.7-inch infotainment screen, and can opt for the Super Cruise hands-free driving system.
