Volvo recently launched its newest electric vehicle, the EX60 SUV, but if you’ve been wondering what Volvo has planned next, a new report may shed some light on what is coming. According to a new report from Automotive News, Volvo is planning to introduce a smaller electric SUV, called the EX50, which will replace the EX40 in the lineup.
If the report is accurate, the EX50 will serve as the entry to Volvo’s EV lineup in the US, since it will replace the EX40 and Volvo has already dropped the smaller EX30 after this year. The EX50 will ride on the same SPA3 platform as the larger EX60, which will likely be offered in single- and dual-motor versions.
Volvo has yet to confirm the report, but if it is accurate, the EX50 is slated to arrive in the fall of 2027.
