Lamborghini has unveiled 2027 Urus SE Performante and in doing so has revealed the fastest, most potent Super SUV it has put to road. As the new flagship of the range, this plug-in hybrid takes what was already a formidable Urus SE and refines it with less weight, better aerodynamics and a fresh suspension that gives you supercar thrills but doesn’t make you forgo day-to-day comfort.

Put simply, Lamborghini is calling the Urus SE Performante the new standard for high-performance luxury SUVs. With 812 horsepower and a raft of chassis work, they have every right to make that claim.

The numbers don’t lie. Under the hood of the Urus SE Performante you will find a plug-in hybrid powertrain mated to a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and a permanent-magnet electric motor. Together they yield 800 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed auto and an electronic all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring see to it that power is put down where you need it for grip and agility.

If you want to put those figures to the test, Lamborghini says you can be up to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds flat, hit 124 mph in 10.8 and go on to a 194 mph top speed. You can also drive over 30 miles on electricity alone.

Engineering-wise, the headline act is the new dual-chamber air suspension. By way of dual air chambers and dampers, the system opens up the performance envelope considerably. Lamborghini puts it at a 55 percent reduction in body roll when you are driving hard and 25 percent fewer vibrations than before.

There is also revised chassis tuning and a wider track, plus some predictive vehicle dynamics software that employs a six-degrees-of-freedom sensor to keep tabs on the body and optimize your braking and stability as you go.

You won’t mistake the Urus SE Performante for the regular SE. The look is starker, aided by a carbon-fiber hood with S-Duct outlets, bigger intakes and a substantial rear diffuser. All of which helps with cooling and aero; Lamborghini claims 16 percent more downforce than the prior Performante and 23 percent over the SE, all while cutting drag.

Carbon fiber is in evidence on the wheel arches and side skirts too, shaving 71 lbs off the curb weight. And if you want to get serious about the tarmac, there are optional Bridgestone Potenza Race semi-slicks to go with the new 23-inch wheels.

In the cabin you’ll find a sportier vibe courtesy of CorsaTex microfiber and some switchgear with an aviation feel. The new 12.3-inch infotainment screen has been given the same treatment as the Revuelto’s graphics, and the digital cluster behind the carbon-fiber steering wheel will show you all the telemetry you could want in keeping with the “Feel Like a Pilot” ethos.

Out back, a new Akrapovič titanium exhaust comes as standard. It is not only 22 pounds lighter but gives the Performante a deeper voice, particularly in Sport or Corsa mode.

Then there is the matter of drive modes. You still have Strada, Sport and Corsa, but the Performante adds a Rally mode for looser ground, as well as an EV mode.
