Rumors suggested the Nissan Altima was headed for retirement after 2025, but that’s not the case. Nissan has confirmed the 2026 Altima is sticking around, and it arrives with a simplified trim lineup and updated pricing.

For 2026, Nissan has discontinued the S and SL trims, making the Altima SV the new entry point at $28,825, while the Altima SR tops the lineup at $30,325. The Altima SV comes well equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite.
Upgrading to the Altima SR adds a sportier edge thanks to 19-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, and sport seats.
Buyers who want the more aggressive blackout look can opt for the SR Midnight Edition, which adds a black V-Motion grille, a two-tone black roof, black wheels, darkened window trim and badges, plus dual-zone climate control and a moonroof. The SR Premium Package builds on that with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, ProPILOT Assist, a Bose nine-speaker audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and the Intelligent Around View Monitor.
The return of the Altima for 2026 shows Nissan isn’t ready to give up on the midsize sedan segment just yet—at least not this year.
