MINI has unveiled a special edition of the 2027 MINI Cooper Heritage Edition, which is a way to pay homage to its British pedigree and the 25 years the modern MINI has been on American soil.

This Heritage Edition, which is built on the 2027 MINI Cooper S 2-Door, is the fourth of eight special editions the brand has in store for the U.S. this year. Dealers can expect the first of them in early fall; pre-orders are being taken now.
In true MINI fashion, the car makes no bones about its British identity. A white contrast roof is the most prominent element, sporting a large Union Jack graphic that spans the top of the vehicle. That red and white motif is picked up by a stripe running down the hood and rear hatch to give the styling some cohesion. As for paint, one can opt for Chili Red II or Indigo Sunset Blue Metallic, either with white mirror caps. The 18-inch Slide Spoke wheels are finished in two tones and have their own unique center and valve stem caps.

Step inside and the theme is still in evidence. The lower spoke of the steering wheel has a textured Union Jack, and there are badges on the driver’s floor mat and a checkered flag on the passenger side to acknowledge the marque’s motorsports past. The package is rounded out with a special key fob cap, exclusive trim on the console and door sills.
“From the beginning, MINI has proved that big characters can come in small packages,” the company put it, saying the Heritage Edition is as much about the brand’s evolution under BMW Group as it is the classic Mini’s origins.

The Heritage Edition is an exclusively U.S. and Canadian nameplate; elsewhere the same car will be known as the MINI Cooper Oxford Edition (not to be confused with the Oxford Edition already in North America). It is based on the Cooper S 2-Door with Iconic Trim and the Comfort Package Plus, but the graphics and interior details set it apart.
On the numbers side, the MSRP for a standard Cooper S 2-Door is $32,800. Tack on the Heritage Edition package and requisite equipment and the figure is $39,270. Factor in the $1,350 for destination and handling and the total is $40,620. With its limited run and distinctive looks, it should make for a fine collectible for enthusiasts as MINI commemorates a quarter-century in the U.S.
