Mini has revealed the 2025 Mini Cooper Convertible, the final member of the new Mini family.

The 2025 Mini Cooper Convertible arrives with a fully automatic soft top in black with the option of having a Union Jack pattern printed on it. This powered top is able to open in 18 seconds or close in 15 seconds at the touch of a button and can be operated at speeds up to 18 mph.

It also retains the unique ability to slide back on its support rails to reveal a 16-inch opening to the sky akin to that of a regular sunroof for those who don’t want to commit to fully dropping the top. An integrated rollover protection system is concealed behind the rear seat headrests that activates safety roll hoops should the vehicle detect an imminent rollover.

The rest of the 2025 Mini Cooper Convertible is basically the same as the hatch version. This means the same cheerful new Mini styling with a larger front grille and more defined headlights with unique lighting signatures. Around back, we find the new iconic (and newly user-configurable) Union Jack-inspired LED taillights. US buyers will be able to choose between 11 different exterior colors as well as a variety of 17 and 18-inch wheel designs.

Inside, the 2025 Mini Cooper Convertible has essentially the same interior as that found in its hatchback brother. That means buyers will find a modern, thoughtfully designed interior with plenty of interesting touches. The centerpiece of the dash is the 9.5-inch circular OLED touchscreen display with plenty of customization options and even an animated personal assistant.

A fabric-covered dash can be optioned with a houndstooth pattern and features the same available light projections that change with the drive modes as already seen on the hatch. Chunky toggle switches abound, and there is indeed a small rear seat for friends of shorter stature to enjoy the open-top motoring experience.

The 2025 Mini Cooper Convertible features a small 7.6 cubic foot trunk with the top up that shrinks to an even smaller 5.7 cubic feet with the top down. This is a Mini, after all!

Initially, the 2025 Mini Cooper Convertible will be offered in base Cooper and more speedier Cooper S configurations. Both versions will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-lt four-cylinder, with the Cooper making 161 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque and the Cooper S making a more robust 201 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque.

Base Cooper models will run 0-60 in 7.9 seconds, while Cooper S versions will make the same spring in 6.7 seconds. All 2025 Mini Cooper Convertibles get an automatic transmission and FWD. Mini also mentioned a hotter John Cooper Works version will join the lineup sooner rather than later, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer for more information on that one.

Pricing for the 2025 Mini Cooper Convertible will start at $34,945 (including destination fee) when it goes on sale in the US in January 2025.
