Volvo has released a few more details today about its new ES90 electric sedan, which is going to debut next week on March 5. We’ve already seen some teaser photos of the 2026 ES90, but now Volvo is giving us more details about its architecture and driving range.

The ES90 will be first Volvo built on an 800-volt architecture and it will be powered by dual motors with a driving range up to 435 miles based on Europe’s WLTP cycle. The final EPA number will be lower.
The ES90 has a slightly smaller battery pack with 101.0 kWh of usable capacity compared to hte EX90’s battery at 107.0 kWh. Thanks to its new architecture, the ES90 is able to squeeze out more miles between charges.

Volvo says that it will only take 20 minutes to charge the ES90 from 10 to 80 percent using a 350-kW DC fast charger. It can also add 186 miles of range in only 10 minutes.
Lastly the ES90 is also focused on sustainability, since it’s made from recycled and natural materials. 29 percent of the aluminum and 18 percent of the steel is recycled and it also contains 16 percent recycled polymers and bio-based materials. The wood inside is made from FSC-certified wood.
