Last fall Volkswagen unveiled the redesigned Tiguan, but here in the US we had to wait a bit to get it. Now VW has unveiled the 2025 Tiguan, which adds a bolder look to the compact SUV with improved tech and more power under the hood.
On the outside, the 2025 Tiguan gets a more rounded look that brings it closer to the styling of the ID.4 electric SUV. The look is bolder than before giving the Tiguan a sportier look than the last generation. Under the skin, the new Tiguan is based on the new MQB evo platform.
Under the hood the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine now generates 201 horsepower, which is an increase over the outgoing Tiguan that only had 184 horsepower. In addition to the power upgrade, the new Tiguan weighs around 170 pounds less, which will impove fuel economy and acceleration.
Inside the new cabin looks more upscale and modern than before with its 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and 12.9-inch infotainment system. A head-up display, 15-inch infotainment screen, 10- or 30-color ambient lighting, and a12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system are available. One big change is that the Tiguan will now only be offered with two rows of seats, unlike the last generation which could be equipped with three rows.
VW has not announced when the 2025 Tiguan will arrive.
