The Cadillac Escalade is an icon in the luxury SUV segment and now Cadillac is taking the Escalade into the future with the arrival of the 2025 Escalade IQ. The fully electric Escalade reimagines what we expect from the Escalade.

2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ

For starters, the Escalade IQ is the first full size SUV built on GM’s Ultium EV platform, which means that it will not share its platform with the standard Escalade. Since its based on a new platform, the designers were able to make the Escalade IQ look more sleek than the standard Escalade, but at the same time many of the same design cues on the Escalade IQ are borrowed from the standard version. Cadillac estimates that the Escalade IQ’s sleeker profile lowers the drag coefficient by 15 percent compared to past Escalade models. We can also see some similar design cues from the electric Lyriq and Celestiq models.

The Escalade IQ is powered by two electric motors that generate up to a combined 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. Cadillac estimates that it can accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than five seconds and it has a towing capability up to 8,000 pounds. One pedal driving, selectable regen modes and the hands-free Super Cruise driver assistance system.

It rides on an adaptive air suspension that can lower the Escalade IQ up to two inches or raise it one inch. It also gets four-wheel steering to make it more nimble and reduce the turning diameter. There’s also a special feature called Cadillac Arrival Mode, that allows the Escalade IQ to move diagonally to make it easier to park in tight spaces.

With 200 kW of available energy, the Escalade IQ has a driving range up to 450 miles. Using a DC Fast Charger, up to 100 miles of range can be added in only 10 minutes. It will also feature bidirectional charging, which means that you could use energy from the Escalade IQ to power a home. It can also be used to power external devices, like power tools.

Inside the Escalade IQ’s cabin elevates what we’ve come to expect from an Escalade. As soon as you open the front door you’re greeted by a 55-inch LED screen that stretches from pillar to pillar. The infotainment system also has Google built-in. In the second row the available Executive Second Row Seating package adds 12.6-inch screens, dual charging pads, a center screen, massaging seats and headrest speakers. A 40 speaker audio system is also available.

Just like the standard Escalade, there are three rows of seats. There’s 23.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, while the frunk adds an additional 12.2 cubic feet of space.
