Mazda has announced the updates and pricing for the 2023 Mazda 3 sedan and hatchback.

The big news is that the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine now has 5 more horsepower at 191 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. The engine is also more efficient thanks to its updated cylinder-deactivation system. The 2.5-liter is rated at 28 mpg city, 37 mpg highway and 31 mpg combined.

For buyers that want more power, there’s the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine wiht 250 hp and 320 lb-ft. with 93 octane fuel. On regular 87 octane fuel the engine generates 227 hp and 310 lb-ft. The 2.5-liter turbo comes standard with all-wheel drive.

The 2023 Mazda 3 starts at $23,615 for the sedan and $24,615 for the hatchback. The Mazda 3 hatchback will arrive this fall and the sedan will arrive in the winter.
