Lexus unveiled the updated 2022 ES sedan at the Shanghai Motor Show today. The changes are small, which isn’t a bad thing, since the ES is already an attractive midsize sedan.
On the outside the headlights have been restyled and they now feature bi-LED lights with auto-leveling. The grille has also been slightly updated and there are some new wheel designs. That’s basically it, so most buyers probably won’t be able to see the styling changes.
For buyers that want the ES 300h hybrid, but want it to look a bit more aggressive, Lexus is now offering the F Sport trim on the hybrid. The ES 350 is also now available with a new Dynamic Handling package that adds adaptive dampers, in addition to the the Sport + driving mode.
Inside the welcome addition is a new touchscreen infotainment system that is now closer to the driver as well. An 8.0-inch touchscreen is standard, but a larger 12.3-inch screen is optional.
Other tech upgrades include the addition of the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 safety suite, which now has pedestrian and cyclist detection. It also adds Intersection Turning Assist and Curve Speed Reduction. The 2022 Lexus ES will arrive this fall.
