On the outside the Forte’s face has been updated with sleeker headlights, a new version of the tiger-nose grille and a redesigned bumper. At the rear the bumper has also been redesigned, there’s a new trunk lid spoiler and GT models get new taillights. The exterior updates are finished off with new 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside there’s a new 4.2-inch LCD screen in the gauge cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s standard on GT models. The smaller 8-inch touchscreen gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but if you opt for the bigger screen you still have to plug your phone in. Remote start has also been added to the Smart Key and there are new synthetic leather seats.

The 2022 Forte is available with either a 147 horsepower 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder or a 201 hp 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The 2.0-liter is only available with a CVT, while the 1.6-liter gets either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
