Genesis has pulled the covers off its next model, the 2022 GV70 compact crossover. It’s the brand’s answer to other popular luxury compact crossovers, like the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
The GV70 borrows many styling cues from the larger GV80 and the new G70 sedan. Speaking of the G70, the GV70 is expected to share its platform with the compact sedan. We like the overall look of the GV70 with its muscular shape. From the looks of it, the GV70 has the potential to be one of the brand’s most popular models.
“The audaciously designed new GV70 breaks new ground for Genesis through purity of design execution. This follows the Genesis G80 and GV80 which demonstrated the perfect balance of our design identity ‘Athletic Elegance’ said SangYup Lee, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Genesis Design.
Inside the interior is stylish and luxurious. There’s a big widescreen infotainment display on the top of the dashboard.
Genesis has not announced what will power the GV70, but a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder will likely be the base engine, while a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 will probably be optional.
The 2022 Genesis GV70 is expected to arrive in the US sometime next year.
