On Sunday Chevy unveiled the 2022 Bolt EUV crossover, but it also doesn’t want us to forget about the Bolt EV hatchback, which has received some updates for the new model year. The biggest updates to the 2022 Bolt EV include a new face and an upgraded interior.
The Bolt EV and Bolt EUV are based on the same platform, but they actually do not share any exterior body panels. The Bolt EUV is also about six inches longer than the Bolt EV. The 2022 Bolt EV now has a new face with new headlights and a more upright look, but it’s not very distinctive.
Inside the 2022 Bolt EV’s interior has received a much need upgrade with a better design and higher quality materials. A 10.2-inch infotainment screen has been added with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s also an 8-inch digital instrument cluster and a new electronic shifter on the center console. The steering wheel also has a flat bottom to give it a sportier look.
Sadly GM’s Super Cruise hands free tech is only available on the larger Bolt EUV. There are also aren’t any upgrades under the hood, since the Bolt EV is still powered by the same electric motor with 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The driving range also hasn’t changed, which means that the Bolt EV can travel up to 259 miles.
The best part is that the 2022 Bolt EV is now cheaper with its price starting at $31,995 before any tax incentives. The 2022 Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV will arrive this summer.
