Ford has announced some updates to the 2021 Ford Explorer lineup, which sees the introduction of a new lower-prices Explorer Enthusiast ST trim level.
The Explorer Enthusiast ST is powered by the same 400-hp turbocharged 30-liter V6 as the standard ST, but it’s been decontented slightly to make it more attainable. The Explorer Enthusiast ST also gets the same suspension as the ST, plus 20-inch wheels, a partial leather interior, 12.3-inch digital cluster, CoPilot 360 safety tech and the Class II Trailer Tow Package. What it’s missing is the ST’s 401A “ST High” equipment package, which includes a 12-speaker B&O premium audio system, wireless charging, Active Park Assist 2.0 and a 360-degree camera.
The 2021 Explorer Enthusiast ST starts at $49,995, including the delivery charge, which makes it $4,080 cheaper than a standard Explorer ST.
Ford has also added a slightly cheaper rear-wheel drive version of the Explorer Platinum for buyers that don’t need all-wheel drive. It starts at $53,725, including delivery.
Lastly the Explorer Platinum is now also available as a hybrid, which starts at $54,330.
