Toyota is giving the 2020 Toyota Avalon and Camry the TRD treatment to add a little bit more sportiness to the two sedans. Toyota is going to reveal the new TRD versions of the Avalon and Camry this month at the LA Auto Show, but we have all the details now.
On the outside both the Avalon and Camry TRD versions not only look more aggressive, but they are also a bit more aerodynamic thanks to a new aero package, which was designed at Toyota’s Calty design center. The aero package adds goodies, like a front splitter, side aero skirts, trunk lid spoiler, and rear diffuser.
The TRD versions don’t just get some styling updates, since Toyota says that both sedans have been track tuned with some suspension modifications, like TRD shocks and a lower ride height. The Camry also gets stiffer springs and new front and rear anti-roll bars front and rear that tightens up the Camry’s roll stiffness by 44 percent and 67 percent.
Under the hood there aren’t any modifications to the 301-hp 3.5L V6 that powers both sedans, but a cat-back dual exhaust has been added. Both models also ride on unique 19-inch wheels.
The Avalon and Camry TRD versions will arrive in the fall of 2019.
